Julian Simmonds
Executive Director

Julian is a highly-regarded economic policymaker with extensive experience in sectors including property and agriculture. He was the Federal Member for Ryan and served on the House of Representatives Economics Committee. Julian was previously a Brisbane City Councillor where he demonstrated his commitment to prudent fiscal management as the Chair of the Committee for Finance, Economic Development and Administration. As a 26-year-old in that role, he helped to manage and deliver a $3 billion budget, with sustainable surpluses, for Australia’s largest local government.

Will Dempsey
Campaign Manager

Will is a seasoned campaigner with extensive experience in political communications and media engagement. Will has worked in advisory and campaign roles at both the federal and state levels in Canberra and New South Wales. He has experience in media newsrooms, proposal management, and market research, where he has served as a pollster and analyst. Will is passionate about modern campaign techniques and is a savant when it comes to emerging technologies in Australian political campaigning.

Dr Nataliya Ilyushina
Advisory Board Member

Nataliya is a prominent economist and researcher with a passion for AI, the future of work, blockchain, digital transformation, gender and wellbeing economics. She is a passionate commentator on technology, women in business, future trends, and labour markets. Known as ‘Dr Pink’ due to her preference for bright pink clothing, Nataliya is deadly serious when it comes to economic freedom and individual empowerment.

Benson Saulo
Advisory Board Member

Benson is a community leader with a successful career spanning finance, international relations, and economic development. He was Australia’s first Indigenous Consul-General, serving as the Australian Consul-General and Trade and Investment Commissioner based in Houston, Texas. Born to an Aboriginal mother and Papua New Guinean father, Benson is a proud descendant of the Wemba Wemba and Gunditjmara people, and of the New Ireland Province of Papua New Guinea, and is passionate about the real impacts of policymaking on local communities.

Gene Tunney
Advisory Board Member

Gene is a widely-published economist and a fervent advocate for better policymaking in Australia. As a former Treasury official who managed teams in Treasury’s Industry and Budget Policy divisions, Gene has firsthand experience of how policy is really made and applied inside governments. Gene is a regular economic commentator in Australian and international media. He is also a lecturer in economics and international development. Unafraid to speak the truth, Gene is a loud critic of bad government policy and is the author of Beautiful One Day, Broke The Next: Queensland’s Public Finances Since Sir Joh and Sir Leo.

Jack Tossol
Advisory Board Member

Jack is a firebrand internet personality, with over 166,000 followers on TikTok and 155,000 on Instagram, famous for his fearless ocker takedowns of people who take themselves too seriously. Born and bred from the bush, he moved to the big smoke to pursue his education and work. In addition to being a UGC creator, Jack is a financial advisor and a no-nonsense, hard worker who thrives in fast-paced environments and loves a good public debate.

Alexandra Sinenko
Advisory Board Member

Alex is a young leader specialising in cyber network security and is passionate about securing Australia’s future by harnessing the convergence of economic and defence policy. Alex has a Bachelor of Information Technology and Bachelor of Laws (Hon) and is a student mentor for women in technology. With significant experience in politics and community campaigning, Alex is motivated to help avoid the current likelihood that young Australians will be the first generation ever to suffer a lower standard of living than their parents, owing to bad policy.

Darcy Creighton
Advisory Board Member

Darcy is a young leader who manages investments in the agricultural sector and has a strong background in policy, politics, and community campaigning. He previously worked in the office of the Leader of the Opposition, the Hon Peter Dutton MP. Darcy has a Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics and is committed to combating current policy failures like intergenerational tax equality, Australians being taxed higher now than ever, decreasing housing affordability, and rising inflation driven by excessive government spending and waste.
